Conference: pursuing a career in cybersecurity

Saturday, 12th March 2016, will go down in Ghana's IT industry history as a remarkable and unforgettable experience, as the British Council Auditorium in Accra was center stage for the "Pursuing A Career In Cybersecurity" conference.

The educational intiative, organized and delivered by Security Architectural Consult to illuminate on the Cybersecurity industry and the global demand for Cybersecurity professionals brought together participants across diverse sectors and IT disciplines.

The conference saw the gathering of students and professionals from various instituitons, universities and polytechnics in the country to be educated on cybersecurity, its threats and the potential opportunities available in its global market.

Participants engaged with speakers and resource persons from Google, IBM and Nokia and were presented with a platform for networking, business and career development in this three session packed event from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Mr Evans Dickson, PgM Network Operations for Google Ghana, in his address, stressed on the need for both the working and non-working class to be certified in one way or the other. He emphasised that, in todays' competetive market, certification was necessary to develop skill and increase ones preference on the job market.

Cybersecurity certification, however, holds an industry premium with security skills difficult to come by. Security Architectural Consult is set to deliver cybersecurity courses in information security management, ethical hacking, penetration testing, security architecture and cloud security with the British Council's Professional Development Center (PDC) as venue for the training here in Ghana.
